Homemade Tomato Puree
Ingredients:
2 packets cherry tomatoes (or any type of tomatoes of your choice)
1 1/2 cup filtered water
1 tbsp brown sugar or 2 tbsp agave nectar
1 lemon
1 tbsp Alive Relish seasoning powder (organic)
Cut cherry tomatoes into half and put into saucepan. Add in filtered water and sugar and let it simmer for 10 mins. Add in seasoning powder, stir until dissolve and turn off heat. Squeeze in the juice of 1 lemon and stir evenly. Taste and adjust your preference of sweet sour accordingly by adding more sweetener.
Let it cool slightly and blend into smooth paste with a food processor or blender. Pour into clean jars and keep refrigerated.
Use as dip, spread or sauce without having to add seasoning.
Homemade tomato puree is free from coloring and preservatives. You may add in basil leaves or mushroom or onions to blend together for use as pasta sauce.
